The movie Pay it Forward introduced the world to the idea that a good deed should be “paid forward” and not “paid back.” This video, from the Primate’s Evangelism Commission, uses the same motif to suggest that evangelism too is a matter of “paying forward” the gift of the Gospel with which God has blessed us.
At the heart of this production are interviews conducted at the Good News Can’t Wait National Conference on Evangelism with Anglicans from across Canada. It was written and narrated by John Bowen and produced by Anglican Video.
The tape is 35 minutes long, and consists of 5 parts, each dealing with a different aspect of evangelism and including interviews, commentary, and scripture. The video can be viewed at a single sitting, or can be shown in five separate segments, each one followed by discussion. A brief study guide is included. Suitable for study groups, parish councils, outreach committees, and other groups.
John Bowen has been associated with the Institute of Evangelism since 1997, and has been the Director since 1999. For twenty-five years he worked for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, from 1989 till 1997 as National Evangelism Consultant and a campus evangelist.
