Since the mandate of the Lord for every believer in Christ, is to be conformed, transformed, shaped, and molded into the image of Christ. And part of that Christlikeness is the signs and wonders through the power of the Holy Spirit, where, in all the ecumenical denominations there are, are those that possess this life? Since Paul's biggest labour was the working with the body of believers to see the fullness of Christ formed in them. Where again, no matter what name is placed over the lintel of the building are those beleivers, or for that matter the teaching of this mandate, and subsequent fruit of the likeness of Christ?
Sincerely
Mr B.

Jenny: I think you have hit the nail on the head. I suggested to Bishop Cray that maybe the fertility of the "fresh expressions" movement in the UK is the overflow of 50 years of good teaching and modelling by the likes of Stott which has produced a younger generation who are (a) passionate for the Gospel and (b) not afraid to try new (and sometimes costly) things. We are lagging behind in several respects . . .

John,
Your clear visualization of your faith places the emphasis where it should be.

Thanks for this John....like the idea of the three circles...Christian being largest and Anglican evangelical being smallest. Makes me begin to think why there isn't a bigger subculture of Anglican evangelicals in Canada....as compared to say in the C of E. Is the reason simply that in Canada we have not had a leader of the stature and relevance of John Stott ? and the subsequent conferences like Keswick etc that solidified the evagelicals in the CofE as a group ?
When I think about all the church planting and fresh expressions going on in England most of it is by evangelicals who are connected to one another and encourage one another. Do we need to build such a subculture in Canada so as to build a foundation for future fresh expressions of church ?
