Christianity 101: Free download of all materials!
Sometimes people who are trying to figure out what they believe show up at a church on a Sunday morning. Sometimes they are asked after their first service if they want to teach Sunday School. What is wrong with this picture?
Every church should offer people regular opportunities to learn the basics of Christian faith. This is for the sake of new people who are trying to “figure out their spirituality” (or whatever language they may use). It helps them begin at the beginning. But is also for the sake of long-term members who have never really figured out what they believe or why.
There are many ways to teach the basics of Christian faith. Alpha is perhaps the best-known; Christianity Explored is another; Introducing God (from Australia) yet another.
The Wycliffe College Institute of Evangelism is pleased to be able to offer Christianity 101, sometimes called Christian Basics or C101, for free download. This course was first taught by Harold Percy at Trinity Anglican Church, in Streetsville, but has been adapted for many different contexts.
Here you can download:
- Text for four talks
- PowerPoint Slides
- Small group leaders’ materials
- Handouts for participants
- Job descriptions for the team
If you decide to teach Christianity 101, you can ask for help from John Bowen, the designer of this particular version of C101.
