Our Vision:
Every church an evangelizing community!
The Wycliffe College Institute of Evangelism is a service offered to the wider Church. It provides a wealth of resources – teachers and practitioners of evangelism, printed and audio/visual materials, conferences and seminars – to help grow evangelizing congregations.
The Institute’s Mission is to encourage and equip the Church for the work of evangelism, empowering it to engage in this ministry confidently, joyfully and expectantly.
Our Leadership Team
JUDY PAULSEN, Retired Director
In her role as director Judy was engaged in two tasks: (1) teaching evangelism to men and women preparing for church leadership at Wycliffe College and (2) helping churches grow to be evangelizing communities. Prior to taking on this role Judy served in church leadership, pastoring in four growing churches across the GTA. She loves to teach about healthy and effective models of evangelism, organizational change, and how to cultivate churches that are intentionally missional in all aspects of their life.
Judy holds a Master of Applied Science from McGill University, a Master of Divinity from Wycliffe, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. She loves travelling anywhere with her husband Pat, hanging out with their children and grandkids, cooking Indian food, kayaking, and playing the fiddle.
Judy retired in June, and the Institute is in the process of hiring a transitional director.
JUDITH PURDELL-LEWIS, Administrative Assistant
Judith joined the Institute of Evangelism as Administrative Assistant to the Director in 2008. Her primary role is to edit and post Good Idea, the Institute’s monthly e-newsletter, on both the Institute’s website and as the email resource sent by the Institute to over 1200 recipients.
Judith also oversees our database updates and helps with other varied and interesting duties, such as conferences sponsored by the Institute. She lives in Hamilton with her husband Geoffrey, and attends and serves in the Church of St. John the Evangelist.
RYAN SIM, Communications Strategist
Ryan joined the Institute of Evangelism team in 2008 as developer of the Institute’s first web site. Since that time he has provided maintenance of the website’s platform and contributed his skills and experience in the design and development of the Institute’s communications and online evangelism strategy, while serving as a pastor and church planter.
Ryan continues to enjoy linking his technical perspective with the Institute’s mission. Ryan lives in Brantford, Ontario and works as a consultant through his company Digital Message.
