John Patrick was born in the UK, completing his medical training at the University of London in 1963 and doctoral work in cell physiology in 1977. In the interval he practiced academic medicine in the depts of Neurology, Respirology, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pediatrics and Nephrology. He has worked in Jamaica and Africa on the problem of childhood malnutrition. Currently he spends time speaking for the Christian Medical and Dental Society and for the Centre for Renewal in Public Policy, helping to preserve the legitimate place of Christian moral tradition in the formation of Public Policy.
Sheila Rutledge Harding is an Associate Professor (Haematology) and the Assistant Director of Educational Support and Development in the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. She chairs the Ethics Committee of CMDS Canada and has been vocal locally, regionally and nationally concerning such ethical issues as abortion and euthanasia. She and her husband Terry host the CMDS student group in Saskatoon. Sheila and Terry have two sons; Jamie, now 16, and Ross, who died in December 1996, at the age of 10.
